Last time I blogged, I had just run the Walt Disney World Marathon.
Well, it’s been eleven months, some other stuff has happened…
I ran another marathon (Cleveland), I ran seven half marathons (Disney Princess, RnR DC, Towpath, Boston Harvest, Pittsburgh, River Run, Avengers), and a couple other races. I was diagnosed with arthritis in my foot, which isn’t a big deal, but did mess up the last two months of Cleveland training as we tried to figure out what was going on.
I stayed pretty consistent in my running, save for a few random weeks where I just didn’t run. I started Orangetheory. I got injured and took a break. I came back to Orangetheory and I’m feeling great.
I finished graduate school. I haven’t gotten a job. It’s incredibly frustrating.
Now that those updates are out of the way…
Let’s talk about the future.
I’ve decided that I have some pretty big crazy insane goals. I’m gonna run a marathon this spring. Pittsburgh.
I started the Pittsburgh Marathon in 2014. My training was non-existent, I was stupid to even attempt it. I DNFd at like mile 16 because I was miserable and didn’t want to be out there anymore. I thought I was okay with that, but I’m a much more experienced and smarter runner now, so I want to finish the race.
I have a really big time goal. I’m not telling you what it is. At least not yet.
I have a tendency to get really ahead of myself in goal setting, then not put in the work, and get frustrated when it doesn’t happen. So, training starts in early January, we’ll see how it goes, then I’ll adjust or reveal my goals.
It’s also worth mentioning that I haven’t registered for this or any other spring race because in an ideal world, I’ll get a job and suddenly not have so much time. Maybe I’ll move to Florida and start a new job? Maybe I’ll move to Cleveland? Maybe I won’t go anywhere and we’ll come to marathon weekend and I’ll still be unemployed and I’ll cry a lot.
